Cimoron had been dead wrong in believing the old mare had croaked. After the bastard Ghostmane and the winged cretin Nevaeh ousted her family from their home in Wood River Valley - she regrouped. Taking her son Myers Mile with her, the pair left the island for good. Ruffian would have died long ago due to old age, although her visit with the healers had been kind on her. Perhaps they felt bad from the way the old matriarch was treated. Maybe they knew she was destined for greater things.
Her son was glued to her side, and quite frankly she didn't mind. She left everything behind - her life, her daughters, her legacy. The Queen only hoped that eventually she could rebuild to the former splendor the Valley once was. She admitted to herself that the Valley would never be recreated, that part of her life was over, but Delacor would be a new beginning.
The beach within her home had been a place of quiet and tranquility, she knew she would make her refuge here. Myers had taken off a ways ahead to scout the land for anyone that might be roaming. He was fiercely protective of her and with what the Cimoron horses did... She would be too. Ruffian's heart of steel that made her a force to be reckoned with was slowly withering away with the years. It was bitter, spiteful, and held little sympathy. She was never going to allow anyone to get as close to her as the alliance royals had. Finally, her alliance had been born, even if it was just her and her son - for now, she thought with an almost evil grin.

Shrewd rolled his shoulders and meandered slowly down the pale beach. The giant, heavyweight stallion was of the opinion that this new place was supremely boring. Absolutely nothing of interest went on here, and the alliances were quiet. He'd never lived anywhere but Cimoron and this place was entirely unlike it. Yet something kept him here, something drew him back every time he considered leaving.
He paused, the sight of the dark colored mare up ahead giving him pause. He left as if maybe... maybe he'd seen her before. She almost had that distinct "cimoron" aura to her, like a few of the other horses he'd seen here.
"Pretty little princess, what's she doing here so far from home?"
He said softly, his bright blue eyes scanning her curiously.

Ruffian paused to look around her surroundings, something was different. Her nose picked up the scent of a stallion, one that smelled of... Cimoron! Instantly her defenses were up, wheeling around to face the horned beast. Her heart sank, for a moment she thought it was that bastard Ghostmane.
Be still Ruffian, this is not your enemy. She relaxed after looking at him closely. He had ram's horns... Kind of. And appeared to have octopus markings. No matter what he looked like, he was unnatural. Friendly though... Perhaps she could play nice.
"Ghostmane and Nevaeh. I came here to escape them. They took the throne and then my home right after that." She paused, not wanting to give too much information. She didn't want to give as much as she just did... Damnit, get your act together woman.
"I feel as though I know you from somewhere, other than the obvious. You're a Light, aren't you?"
