GENERAL RULES
Keep the cussing to a minimum, we don't want to attract the attention of Proboards! Racial slander is strictly forbidden, even in jest, keep it to yourself. We're all the same here. Please do not go around spewing stuff about religion, once again we are all the same here so keep your opinions in your brain where they belong. Do not argue. If you have a problem with someone, don't even contact them about it. Pretty please PM a staff member first, and let them decide how to handle the problem. We want to keep this site as peaceful as possible. The word of Staff is law. Unless they are being stupid, in which case you can PM Wardog and tell her so that she can tell her staff to stop being stupid. Which brings me to the next rule. DON'T BE STUPID. No one likes stupid people.
ROLEPLAY RULES
There is no maximum or minimum post size, have fun! IMPORTANT. We do expect proper grammar and spelling. If you are not capable of these, we will alert you and you will be expected to take some classes from staff members or find another site. Sorry guys, but we want to keep this site literate. No god modelling or power playing. We don't mind some time flow here, if you want to have a horse rping in two places at once that's fine, however the horse needs to be the same age during those times. You can't have it in one thread where it's a baby and one thread where it's an adult. If your thread is open for anyone to reply, please say (OPEN) in the title. If it is reserved for someone, put that person's name or say (RESERVED). This way it's easy for members to tell which threads are ones they can reply to or not. Please please please be prompt with replies. When it takes days and days and days for a response, people lose interest and muse and the IC time does not stop so characters age and pretty soon people have wasted their time and muse writing a post that didn't even get used.
ALLIANCE RULES
There can be no more than eight alliances at a time. Each alliance can have any number of her boards, but new ones can only be added when the current herds each have at least ten active members each. Herds will be removed when they have less than five active members each. Alliances cannot be destroyed, but they can become Endangered. If an alliance has only one herd, and only five active members, they will be sent to the roaming lands and cannot have herds or be revived as a full alliance until they have twenty active members. During the time of their absence, another Endangered Alliance could potentially take the fallen alliance's place. New alliances can be formed when a group of horses with a specific name and general personality/trait that is specific to them has at least 20 active members. A form for this can be found in the Guidelines. The form can be sent to Wardog, and she will consider the application. If you are accepted, you become an Endangered Alliance with a board of your own in the roaming lands of your choice. When, if a spot opens up for a Full Alliance, if you have the twenty active members still, you can take that spot and have herds and the whole shenanigans. Dandy, no? The King and Queen of each alliance (or King/King, Queen/Queen) must post at least three times a week, inside of the alliance with at least one of those posts in their herd land or their positions will go up for grabs. It is up to the members to keep track of this, so sometimes you might get away with it, but ye be warned. There are vultures here. If a royal is particularly hated OOC but is active, and there is a truly good reason for them to be ousted, contact staff. All royals can be challenged. Challenge rules set by the royals themselves must be followed, unless they are completely unreasonable. If you feel a rule is unreasonable, contact staff. When you win a battle for the throne, you get a one month rest period from challenges. However you must have completed at least one battle post for this to take effect. If you lose a battle for the throne, you cannot challenge for any throne for two months.
HERD RULES. Will be set by Royals.
SEASON AND AGING RULES. Horses age one year every two months. Seasons last 15 days and are then changed. There is no max age for a character here, you can play them as long as you want. However, the older a horse is the less likely it is they will be able to successfully reproduce without complications.
BREEDING AND FOALING RULES. Foaling season is in the Spring and Fall, Breeding season is in the Summer and Winter. If you breed in the Winter to foal in the Spring, you have a 75% chance of it working. If you breed in the Summer to foal in the Fall, you have a 50% chance of it working and a 25% chance of an unhealthy or dead foal. No IC breeding. For a breeding to have any chance, there must be one thread between the parents with at least four posts each. For a Foaling to be viable, the parents must have one thread with at least four posts each after the mother was pregnant, or in plot cases where the parents are not in contact, the thread to qualify them for the breeding needs to have eight posts each.
